Voiceover and Audiobooks

Audiobooks with ACX

In October of 2015, I took the plunge and signed up for ACX! For those who don’t know, that stands for Audiobook Creation Exchange, and it’s an Amazon platform.

Prior to that, I’d been narrating on a volunteer basis for Librivox.org, a public domain audiobook forum offering free narrations of public domain works as listed by Project Gutenberg. I had also been submitting my narration demo to Brilliance Audio in hopes of becoming an audiobook narrator, but with no credits to my name other than commercial voiceover and volunteer reading, I didn’t get any response. I didn’t realize there was any other way to narrate audiobooks than to get hired by an established audiobook production company, such as Brilliance Audio, Recorded Books Inc, Harper Audio, et cetera.

Enter a chance encounter with a youtube video about how ACX is changing the world of audiobook narration, and I couldn’t wait to dive in!

Keep your eyes peeled for my ACX audiobook projects, which will be available on Audible, Amazon, and iTunes!
